Man Charged with Murder in Parkes
A man has been charged with murder following the discovery of a body at a home in Parkes.
Officers from Central West Police District were called to the home on Best Street about 4pm yesterday (Wednesday 6 May 2020), due to concerns for welfare of the resident.
Police found the body of the 74-year-old man inside the home and established a crime scene.
Following inquiries, a 31-year-old man was arrested at a neighbouring house in Best Street about 11pm; he was taken to Parkes Police Station where he was charged with one count of murder.
The man has been refused bail to appear in Dubbo Local Court today (Thursday 7 May 2020), via video link.
